Configuring 1040 to be similar display to my Edge Explore

My new 1040 arrived today.

I am overwhelmed by all the options.

Years back I bought an Edge Explore when it first came out, so it is a long time since I configured it, but my normal ride screen (when not navigating by looking at the map) shows a number of data fields, such as elapsed time, moving time, average speed, current speed, max speed.

I can't yet find where these fields are organised, and how to add others.

For a long time I have been meaning to try and add distance to way point or end of course but never got round to it.

I am paired up with Garmin Connect on my phone but so far can't find a configuration option for the data screens.

I have worked out that I have different profiles and can set different screens depending on the profile, but that is as far as I have got.

Any pointers gratefully received.

Your first reference point should be the online manual on https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/GUID-0083D0A0-EA6E-41F0-8207-3F1498875E61/EN-US/GUID-7EEF25D8-EF3F-4E93-978E-994C07D66D27-homepage.html that you really should study (it will take a while). You can search there for "data screen" and it will give you the instructions to change them.

Thanks for that.

Getting there slowly.

However I am having touch screen issues, and in this forum there are an increasing number of complaints about the functionality and reliability of the latest software release.

After a number of updates when I first powered it up I am on 26.18.

I suspect I may have to wait for another release before it behaves predictably.
