Hello,

Since I get my Garmin 1040, it has never worked properly, the problemnow, which has persisted for weeks and isn't resolved with updates or factory resets, is that it doesn't recognize my power meter. Sometimes it does, but for a couple of minutes at most.

This problem appears after an update on February 20th and March and I can't adjust it any further.

I know it's a problem with my Edge, because my husband has an Edge 530, and my power meter works fine on her unit.

Can someone post the a precios fw? PLEASE

I hope someone can help me.

I experienced an issue with version 25.25 (https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/cycling/f/edge-1040-series/400666/garmin-edge-1040-25-25-varia-rtl515-no-visual-notifications/) and asked support about rolling back, I was told rollback wasn’t possible and was I trucked to roll forward to the 26 (then beta) version instead. Ultimately I gave up on fixing the issue (as beta and early major version rleleases are usually very buggy) and decided to just replace the unit with another a non-garmin one.

Since 26.18, my power meter has to be calibrated every few minutes as the power starts drifting 40-60w too high.

Touch screen seems less sensitive now too.

Then you need a new power meter, the Edge doesn't have anything to do with that problem.

Right.... cause a garmin software update can't possibly affect the power readings.

Brand new 1040 and I'm seeing issues with touch screen response.

I don't know if this is common.

Correct, it can't because the Edge is only reading. You say yourself that calibrating the zero offset does improve the problem for a while, that means the torque in the power meter changes severely without the power meter being able to calibrate itself. And in case it's not clear: Calibrating the zero offset is purely a power meter function too, the Edge does only initiating it.

Correct, it's reading something incorrectly. Is it your position that 2 of these power meters and my trainer all went bad since this garmin update?

That's maybe where your misunderstanding comes from: The Edge doesn't really read, the power meter itself does the reading and the Edge is only receiving the read values. I don't know anything about these other two power meters though, you didn't mention these before.

Same brand PM on two bikes and my trainer are getting weird drifting power readings since this odd update. I see and for years have seen updates mess with PMs so I'm just gonna hope 2 PM and my trainer didn't all break at once.
