Ridewithgps routes won't automatically loaded to new 1040

I bought a new Edge 1040 to replace 530.  I use RideWithGPS to build routes. I used the "Pin route" feature in RWGPS and the routes used to show up in 530 without additional steps.

However, this is not happening with new 1040. The RWGPS routes will show up in Garmin Connect App (or website) but I had to manually send to device from Garmin Connect.

How do I configure the setting so the newly pinned routes will show up on 1040 automatically?

Thanks,

Lou

  • Check the 1040 is connected to WiFi/Phone and synching...courses found on 1040 in "Controls" Widget or in settings Menu/Training/Race an Activity/Saved Courses

In RWGPS, I first create a route, save it and its found in My Routes list on RWGPS and from there I select and send to device...never used "Pin route" feature

  • IDK, but RWGPS recently changed the PIN feature on their website. I don't see it anymore.  Now there's a "Send to Garmin" button instead.  I've only used it a few times but it's worked.

EDIT:  I found PIN under the save button.  If I click the "Send to Garmin" button, it changes the course to Pinned."

  • I use the ridewithgps Connect IQ app and it works well for me. You can individually select pinned routes to download and ride.

Check out this app from the Garmin Connect IQ Store apps.garmin.com/.../773bf1d8-9f65-4e50-8517-e13ffd064d54
