Event file only showing part of route, distance is correct

Did a 103 mile ride today, the full distance is showing on the device history and in garmin connect, but only the last part of the route is showing on the map.
The strava upload only shows the distance from the map.
This was after our last coffee stop.
At the coffee stop I paused the ride, turned off the device (not sleep).
After the stop I switched on the device, unpaused and continued the ride.

The device worked correctly at all times during the ride.

This has now happened on 3 separate occasions.

I'd like to correct the file and understand why it's happening.

I have had the same issue happen twice now, exactly the same scenario as this

I reset the device after the first time it happened but it happened again today, it does seem to coincide with the last update that was done

In fact its even stranger as the 'Last Ride' on the Home Screen shows the full route on the map but if I go into that ride it only shows since the stop. Time for a support call me thinks

I suspect it doesn’t like to be powered off after stopping the ride (and not saving) and this can corrupt the file.
I’ve been using sleep instead and it seems to be working ok.

Will give that a try, maybe something to do with update
