Unable to send route to device from Garmin Connect?

I just noticed that Garmin Connect 5.9.1 lost the ability to send routes to a device. On my iPhone 16 Pro, there are no separate "send to device" and context menu buttons anymore:

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open Courses in Garmin Connect
  2. Select a course
  3. Observe that there is now a combined button for sending the route to a device AND to open the context menu (see screenshot)
  4. Press that button

Expected outcome:

Connect allows me to select a device to send the route to

Actual outcome:

A context menu opens, with options for deleting, sharing and editing the route.

Workaround

  1. Open connect.garmin.com in a web browser
  2. Sign in (hidden in the context menu)
  3. Open Training - Courses
  4. Select "Send to Device" from course list
  5. Synchronize the device
