Why are my Favero pedals not working on my Garmin Edge 1040?

My Favero Assioma Pro MX pedal isn't working on my EGDE 1040.

They are connected but no indication. At some moment there is indication but most of the time not.

And i cannot change my Edge from BLE to ANT+. The connection on my pedal is ANT+ but on my Garmin it is BLE.

Al other sensors are connected with ANT+.

I contacted Garmin; and they said they are not compatible. What i do not believe.

On the Favero app the pedal is doing fine. And on my training app (JOIN) it is also ok.

What is going on?

  • Hi, you probably need to remove this pedal power sensor from Edge, and then add again. You should be able to connect it as ANT+, i.e do not choose Bluetooth option, just wait it appears without using "show Bluetooth" (see picture attached).

And if you want still to connect is as Bluetooth - first make sure you disconnect it from your phone, PC etc (e.g. by switching off Bluetooth on those devices). I can't find right now if Assioma MX supports multiple simultaneous BT connections, maybe not... if this is the case, then your phone may interfere Assioma's BT connection to Edge, and it may look as you described above.

So it's slways better to connect with ANT+ option.

    Hope it helps.

  • Thanks for the reply.

    • What you suggest, about to choose between ANT+ or Bluetooth is not possible on my device. I cannot choose. It automatically connects with BLE. While on my phone it is connected with ANT+.
I already removed the pedal from my device and installed it again. The same result.
The pedal has worked for a moment.

I was convinced I had installed the right sensor. But indeed a difference between BLE and ANT+. See pictures.

Right one is ANT+ and left BLE. And it works now, several tests done. Unit Off, unit on and right away the correct indication.

    "Verbonden" means connected.

DennisF thank you very much for the solutions. Big Happy.

  • You're welcome Glad to see you resolved this, happy cycling with power!
