Version 25.24: changing profiles on home screen is very sluggish takes ~3 seconds

Since the update of my Edge 1040 solar to version 25.24 changing the profiles on the home screen takes forever.

The click (or swipe, it does not matter) on the arrow to switch profiles is sluggish. It takes a couple of seconds to react and display the next profile name. The device freezes during these ~3 seconds (which is noticeable because the blinking sensor symbols in the top status bar stop blinking until the device finally recovers and has switched one profile over...).

I have 7 profiles configured. Toggling through all 7 now takes a long time. And becuase the reaction of the Edge is sluggish, I sometimes do click too fast and then it even jumps over the one I was searching for...

Do others notice the same problem?

What can I do. I would like to get back to the quicker profile selection of previous firmware versions?

    Inspired by HerderBen's success of a factory reset mentioned here https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/cycling/f/edge-1040-series/397754/25-24-map-refresh-slow-freeze-during-navigation/1875684#1875684 I did the same.
    So far so good. Like Ben, I did remove all maps, did a factory reset, deleted the device in my connect app and my iPhones bluetooth setting. I did set up it from scratch. During setup I did transfer my sensors from my connect profile. but my activity profiles i did not transfer (although the connect app did offer me that). Then I did install the maps of europe again using the windows desktop software garmin express. Now the device is fast and snappy again.

    I did not yet install my connect iq apps. As there is a small chance, that these were the culprits. I will install one after the other in between rides just to be able to isolate if it is one of them.
