Edge 1040 no data recorder when navigation on course

First time it happened I thought it was me forgetting to press play. I noticed that the bike computer doesn't prompt me to press play when starting the ride with navigation. But now it's the third time and I'm sure that i pressed on start/play. What can be the problem?

When the ride has ended - did you save the ride?
You have to press „save“. It‘s not done automatically…

You easely can check if the recording is active: look at the timer: it must increase. Also averaged values for HR, speed and so on are available only, if a recording is active.

I always press save and something could've happened yesterday because it seemed that a new ride was startedwhen parking the bike (and i saved again). But you're absolute right that the double check on ride distance should be done from the beginning. That I forgot yesterday.
