Edge 1040 v24.19 Completely Broke Gradient Display

As you can see from the video here, the gradient display on the Garmin 1040 was completely broken in this update. As you can probably hear, I'm not impressed.

Can we get an option to downgrade to the previous software version, please? There's simply no point in having data fields that don't work at all. The other features from this update are useless to me. I'd just like to put a number on my struggles and be done with it.

I don‘t want to advertise one of my IQ datafields, but I would be interested, if my datafield for gradient would work better for you…

It would be of interest, because I use only the barometric elevation readings in SDK, not the GPS elevation. There is a saying, that Garmin uses only GPS elevation readings nowadays (which I can‘t believe…)

I'm using the EdgeMapfield for quite a while now, and I can confirm that the gradient in that is working just fine. I also never use the Garmin gradient field, so I've never actually seen this issue :)

Went up Hardknott Pass in the UK today. Officially it’s average 13% and peaks at 30%. The Garmin showing around 3-4% was quick funny really as I’m grinding a 34/30 at 4-5mph. It’s a bit annoying but really unlike some who apparently can’t ride without this display and I can “ride to my legs and lungs”.

We're always the last to get the latest firmware here in Korea. Sometimes it takes a couple of extra months.

With how bad Garmin's release firmwares are, there's no way I'll install a beta.

Thanks for suggesting this. It might be a good interim fix until Garmin actually stops releasing broken firmware updates... It's incredible that they can have a beta program and miss simple things like this. Then push it out to shills on YouTube so we all think we're getting a great upgrade.
