Is there anyway to stop Edge 1040 from searching for sensors all the time?

Is there anyway to stop the 1040 from constantly searching for sensors after a ride?  Every time I try to review my data on the 1040 after riding, it is constantly interrupting saying it is searching for this or that sensor.  I can't find any 'master switch' to turn off all searching, and I don't really want to go in and turn off each sensor individually every time i turn the unit on to look at something.  If anyone has had any luck with this, I'd love to hear about it!

  • Sure. Go to sensors, tap on the ones you want to turn off.  Tap on the toggle, and it will be off.  Tap again and it will be on

    Wink

I have this problem only with the Tempe sensor. If it is enabled, it beeps all the time „sensor reconnected“. I have turned it off.
All other sensors result in no beep as long they are not woken up.

  • Hmm.  Interesting -- I'll have to pay attention to that.  I think it may be my Varia radar light that is beeping, but a bunch of them keep trying to connect when my bike is still near, but after a ride.  I'm surprised Garmin hasn't just added a 'stop search' feature for when you want to work with the head unit, but aren't going for a ride.  It seems like an easy software addition (says a non-programmer.)

  • but a bunch of them keep trying to connect when my bike is still near, but after a ride.

Yes, that‘s true. After a ride the sensors are still active for some minutes. (Tempe sensor stays active all the time…)

  • Thanks for this observation on the Tempe. I don't know if the paired Tempe is my sensor reconnecting problem but I'm disabling it to see if that solves my sensors reconnecting problem. I'll post a comment in a few days if that is a solution.
