Autozoom with turn by turn navigation not working anymore

Hi,

Before when following a course with turn by turn navigation on, the map did autozoom on the crossroads where a turn has to be taken. Since a few weeks (last update?) the autozoom does not happen anymore. Anyone has the same issue? I think the configurations on the device are correct (didn't change them). Can anyone tell me what the correct configuration should be, so I can check?

    If I navigate to a POI using the Garmin 1040, it does not happen.  If I am trying to navigate using a course .tcx imported from Ride With GPS, I do not get any navigation prompts or map pop-up at a few meters before the turn or at the turn.  Instead, I get a tiny notification on the bottom of the screen immediately after making the turn.

    Same here. Zoom level is all over the place. Typical Garmin: they fix one issue and create 2 new others...

    Sorry to hear that. Navigation prompts do work for me, it’s the auto zoom I have problems with since a few weeks

    Well, hope they will fix this one soon, it’s kind of irritating because it always worked for me. I’m wondering if all users have this issue, I don’t read a lot of complaints

    Michel, 1040 has 2 forms of "autozoom" , which is the one you are questioning.

    1. The autozoom that happens if "Turn Guidance" (TG) is enabled (Navigation > Courses > [3 vertical dots top-right of screen] > Turn Guidance = Enabled) and the "Navigation Prompts" are set to Map (rather than Text) (Menu > Activity Profile > [Select a Profile] > Navigation > Navigation Prompts > "Map")
      This pops up a zoomed in map screen (I think if you are not on the map screen) with a zoom level of about 50m and disappears when the turn is complete.

      PS If you are :sure" you had these settings then perhaps check again as some users experience changed settings with some software updates.

    2. The second form is independent of TG
      Menu > Activity Profile > [Select a Profile] > Navigation > Map > Auto Zoom = Enabled
      Garmin Support says this setting zooms in when you slow (presumably at a turn?) and zooms out when you speed up. In my experience it has never worked well on 1040 or previous devices.  There was a change noted in the 24.08 beta change log (Restored auto zoom behaviour to previous functionality.) but it is unclear what the previous "behaviour" was and what it was changed to and a number of beta users reported issues with this in a number of beta versions including the last before 24.18 production release.

    Thanks for taking the time to explain. I doublechecked the configuration on my device and both settings are active (Navigation prompt on map in Navigation menu and Autozoom  enabled in activity profile). Unfortunately still the same result  (no autozoom when navigating a course. I know for sure it worked before, and can't rationalize why it stopped working. This is very, very irritating and unacceptable.
