Edge 1040 24,19 syncing fails

Since my edge 1040 update to 24.18 (and 24.19), my courses that I upload from my phone no longer appear on my Edge.

I've rebooted my phone and my edge to no avail.

I've had my fair share of issues with a beta release, but this is a 'stable' one, and still buggy.

  • I have been having the same problem and have been able to force a sync by going to connected services and manually syncing.

  • I will double check, but I'm pretty sure I tried that already. Thanks for the tip though.

  • No joy. Going to _-Connnected Features_ and trying to force the sync both over Wifi or Phone does not work. Going over Wifi just gives me "Transfer in Progress" -> 'Sync Failed' (double checked the wifi password).

Syncing with my phone does not give my any feedback.

  • I noticed that there were 100 courses on my 1040, so I removed some, courses are now being uploaded again.

Very strange that there would be a 100 courses limit on a device like this.

On the one hand - yes, on the other hand it is understandable, because the saved courses are not only simply listed, but every single one is opened and read and set in an order. So you can see basic data and also a graphic for each course.

And, by the way: if you had written "courses" instead of "activities" in your opening post, you would have been helped very quickly Wink

  • with me, syncing on WiFi results in showing " Sync error" too, but the actual sync works, activities (rides that I just did) upload from Edge to server very quickly, so I guess the error is in the "Sync error" message itself, and not with Wifi sync))

As of the course download to Edge, I believe they won't nornallly do unless you hit "send course to device" button in GCM course list. So this is not a bug.

  • You are right, should have used 'courses' iso activities. must have been half asleep. corrected.

  • 100 courses is a known Garmin limitation for which the only fix is to delete courses from the device.
