1040 reporting incorrect vo2 max

Vo2 max is significantly lower on only the 1040.  On the 1020 it was 20% higher and has never adjusted other than 1 point up or down.  Two other devices reporting higher and appears correct.

  • because those other devices also have the older and inaccurate firstbeat algorhythm (and you could easily fool the estimators). it is a known "issue" since ages, if the new models would be the higher with 20%, nobody would report it ..Rofl.

this new 20% "lower" is your valid vo2max (or at least very close to your valid), and not the old x30/x20series' one. accept it.

  • I’ve had it measured by doing a cardiopulmonary exercise test in testing center.  That reported 40,  1030 reported 38. 1040 reported 29.  I also have an update from Apple Watch and it’s also averaging 38.  So I believe that the 1040 is wrong

  • what is your setting in the 1040? i mean, restHR, maxHR, bodyweight? same as in the other devices? what kind of powermeter do you have on the bike and connected to the 1040? and what kind of heart rate sensor do you have paired to the 1040?
