Edge1040 Solar / 24.18 / Crash + Reboot + Routing does not work + several seconds Respons

With the 24.18 release may Edge 1040 Solar does has multiple issues :
1) With two tracks displayed, i was sliding the map to search wher to go, whne the GPS crash and reboot
2 ) Routing is not usable
2.1) Track routing does not works : when started, it stucked in routing calculation at 17%
2.2) Once routing statted, GPS becomes ultra slow between any action (pages slide, zoom...), it tooks several seconds (or minutes) before Respons !!!

I would like to completely reset the GPS, starting with formatting it, then reloading all the software; how to do this ?

Also, if you usually just put the 1040 in sleep / standby mode rather than a full power off it might be worth a factory reset before the new version. In either case do a sync before and most of your profiles / settings / sensors should be restored from Garmin Connect.

Should work, (2.1 & (2.2 are often symptoms of needing a reset, 1) is likely the issue mentioned in the 24.19 update

I'm always switching OFF my Edge1040 without using the Standby feature
The latest 24.19 Release has been downloaded this morning ; i will try it...
Never used the Factory Reset before, because too afraid to lost maps & personal settings

Even with switching off completely the Garmin over time (months) fills up memory locations that should have been cleared and eventually starts just doing odd things. The 2 way syncs between newer x40, 1050 devices and Garmin Connect mobile are much improved and will restore most stuff, profiles, settings, sensors. There will be a few gaps, especially CIQ fields & apps and the phone / wi-fi generally has to be redone, 5 minutes. I do 2/3 resets per year.

I Made a Factory reset… Bluetooth does not work anymore…

coupling Garmin Connect App with Smartphone does not work. The GPS is not seen by Bluetooth..

I did say above,

I use the second option, “Clearing User Data & Setting” and then the Sync and Restore options from Garmin Connect Mobile app have worked very well for me.

Did Sync and Restore restore your totals?

I admit the only time I did factory reset it was Fenix 5x+ and I couldn't get my totals back. For that purpose I have never dared to do factory reset again. Things have changed though, hence I am asking.
