Core body temperature sensor not connecting with Edge 1040

I try to connect Core Body Temperature sensor with Edge 1040 according to instructions provided by Core and Garmin. Edge 1040 display shows "Wake up sensor to connect.", but the sensor in active. I have installed the latest firmware version to both Core sensor and Edge 1040. I had no problems pairing the Core sensor with Fenix 6X Pro Solar and Edge 830. I have pretty much the same Connect IQ data fields installed in all devices. Any suggestions what to try next?

Which instructions are you following? “Wake up sensors to connect” is what the Edge says when you add a new sensor through the menu. If I’m not mistaken, that’s not how it works with the Core. Instead, you just install the datafield and it automatically connects.
