Map of Italy for my Edge 1040

Hi, is the map of Italy is included in the 'free' maps available on Garmin for download? It doesn't look like it from the coloured images. I purchased my Garmin 1040 in Australia and was hoping to avoid having to buy the Europe map package.

    Yes it is, as part of the European maps, the 1040 purchase includes world wide maps but there is not enough room on the device to have them all at the same time. I currently have Australia/NZ and Europe but I had to remove some other maps to make room. Connect your 1040 to Garmin via Garmin Express on a computer and use the manage maps options to add/remove some maps. Read up on (search this forum) the “extra” maps used by Climb Pro, some of these can be manually deleted to increase space too.
