I own the 1040 for more than a year now and I always had this issue: Most of my ride only upload to the server through wifi. This is not working through Bluetooth. I feel like the bigger the ride, the most likely it is the ride won't sync.
This is usually not a problem as i setup my home wifi on my edge but this is not normal as it is instant for activities on my Garmin Fenix 7 watch.
The bluetooth connection works well between the phone and the Edge as map/segment and other sync are working properly. This is just the rides that are not uploading and while my mates are checking their strava at the post ride coffee, i have to wait to be home to see my ride.
This is annoying when you go for the Garmin most expensive device and such a basic feature is not working...
