Edge 1040 Solar with FW 21.18 crashing almost every other ride

Since the update to 21.18 I have not had problems with lost files, but quite a few crashes. In the last two weeks, it crashed 3 times during activities.

I'd be Just Riding Along, look down and see the Garmin logo flash up on the display. Sometimes the unit shuts down and I have to boot it up again, sometimes it reboots on its own. After the reboot I can resume the activity.

Has anyone else had this issue?

How many kms or hours are you talking? NO issue at all. For this kind of issue I advice a hard reset and if it comes again warranty

Since version 24.06 no any issue anymore (on my edge 1040 solar)

Same here. Version 24.06 (beta), no issues, zero crashes.

I have had the issue twice with 21.18. On both occasions it happened when I had (inadvertently) forgotten to fully shut the Garmin down after my previous ride, so I assumed it was to do with starting the 1040 from sleep rather than completely off.

Downgrade to previous firmware didn’t work for me. But deleting all my sensors And reconnect them solved the issue. Never had a crash since that day

I'm having the same issues. The device will randomly freeze and touch input will only be executed after 10s or so (this especially happens when you plug in the charger). It will also randomly restart (which annoyingly happens on rides too).

The device is only a few weeks old.

It happened on firmware version 21.18 and the issues is exactly the same after updating to the latest version 24.18 that just released a couple of days ago.
