The manual says “Press [the Power Button] to enter sleep mode and wake the device. Hold to turn the device on and off and lock the touchscreen.”
Holding the Power Button does access the option to “Sleep” or “Power Off”, but pressing the Power Button just takes a screenshot. Putting the device to sleep takes about 5 seconds, which is about 4½ seconds longer than it should.
On short stops when I want to stick the 1040 in my pocket and take it with me, I would like the option to quickly put the device into a sleep mode. This is the behavior that I've come to expect from the Edge-1000, but using the Power Button, instead of the Lap Button to take screenshots, seems to interfere with this functionality, as described in the manual.
So, without breaking the current Power-Button-as-Screenshot functionality, what's a good way to quickly put the 1040 into sleep mode?
At the very least, this is a documentation error.
