About to buy the 1040

Greetings,
Looking for a new bike computer. Should I buy the 1040 or is the 1050 just around the corner?

If you've seen pictures. it seems obvious that the answer you are seeking is to wait.

The price of the 1040 isn't likely to go up. It might even go down. And, it's possible you'd prefer the newer model…

You won't see a 1050 for at least another 4 years. They are still trying to get the 1040 stable.

Edge 1050 was by mistake already listed on Garmin webpage. It was removed yesterday, after they realized that. Give them week or two and they will release it.

a bike computer with an LCD screen? are you sure about that this is a good idea?

in any remotely sunny day, it would be out of breath in just some hours, so you would have to constantly feed it with a power bank, or having a guesswork what is going on a dim screen

so bye-bye for your day long endurance trips in the mountains

There some comment that it wouldn't replace the 1040. Some people don't like the transreflective screens used in the Edges. The 1050, presumably, would make those people happier.(even with some reduction in battery life).

I suspect Garmin has some experience with this stuff. So, the screen might be not as bad as you are guessing.

I like the Karoo display a lot and 12h+ battery is enough for me. However I like the Garmin eco system and the edge functionality. So an LCD 1050 would be the best of two worlds (for me and my usecases).

Hopefully those are not any generic study pictures and it comes out soon...
