3000+ watts with 21.17. Where can I get 20.19 bits?

Ever since 21.17 I’ve been struggling with quarq power meter readings spikes!.  It seems like I get huge power spikes after a long downhill and then after the power surge I get no cadence or power for 10+ seconds

Today I set a personal best of over 3000W

  • 3 bikes all with quarq power meters

    all 3 connected via ANT+

all 3 show spikes over 1300w with 21.17 firmware

Never seen this in last 2 years with 1040

  •  I captured this problem with ANT+ logging enabled..  It happened three time on my 90min ride today.

At clock time of 2024-07-03T17:45:36.000Z (about 0:24:23 from start of ride)... Stuck at 1314W for 3 seconds in the middle of a climb where I was putting down power.

Also at exactly 0:45:00 from start of fit at 2024-07-03T18:06:13.000Z, a 726W spike out of nowhere where when coasting down a hill.  You will notice that cadence was zero for many seconds before this, and then cadence is "NULL" for 5 s following.

Again at 102:49 offset from start of ride at 2024-07-03T18:24:02.000Z, a 1019W spike after coasting for a few seconds prior.... 0,0,0,0,1019,4,241W doesn't seem possible to me.

One other thing to note at 1:31:00 into fit file at 2024-07-03T18:52:13.000Z, climb pro kicked in and my power readings went to "--" on display.
, power readings stopped and about 30s later I got a "Power Meter Connected" message.

I have saved off the activity and the complete "garmin\debug\" directory.

    GarminPowerSpike.zip

    Now what?

I capture this problem with ANT debugging enabled....

  • Let me try and look at the ANT log this weekend and see what the power meter is actually sending.
