Edge 1040 Series SW 21.17 - Power Meter Issue

HI,

ever since I installed fw version 21.17 my Assioma2 power meter periodically loses connection and the session is missing a large part of the data that Assioma sends. If I can't find a workaround I would like to downgrade to fw version 21.16. where can I find the bin file?

  • did you try to delete the pairings from the Edge (both ANT+ and BT if via both protocol are paired) , reboot the Edge (press and hold the power button for ~20secs, until reboot), then re-pair only via ANT+ (disable the BT sensor pairing if the Edge finds it via BT too, but do not delete) and re-test, it should work.

  • I've installed this version this week, and the workouts after that got the exact same issue, using a Stages Power Meter.
So indeed it seems a general issue with this new update.
I'll try to do the workaround and see if tomorrow the issue goes away.

  • I've tested this today and my previous statement was incorrect.
I had these same issues but the version I had was in fact 21.16...yesterday evening I've updated to 21.17 and this morning the power reading were just fine again (without having to remove the sensor and add it again).
Note: my stages power meter is connected via Bluetooth

  • Hi Luko79, I performed the procedure you suggested and now I actually have a data record for all activity but the power recorded is wrong. I use to see the average power 3s and the value shown is at least 1/3 lower than the actual. This was also found by another friend with the 1040 who had the same problem as me and performed the same procedure. We both use the Power Meter Assioma 2.

We both come from version 20.19 with which we have never had any problems.

I want to downgrade the firmware to 20.19 someone please give me info where I can download the official 20.19 firmware version of the 1040.

  • what is the leg balance? (if the displayed power is only 2/3 then there should be huge /recorded/ imbalance if it is Duo) and ofc, calibrate manually the Assiomas (yeah, i know there is auto-calibration in it, but as all auto-gimmick, it could work faulty...)

or/and share a FIT file (in ZIP format), lets take a look what is going on in your recording.

  • Here my  Last Activity where you view all data.

I have always performed automatic calibration and have never had any problems. The crank is also set correctly at 170mm

  • i dont see any problem here with the balance or the power readings. the reason why i wanted to get a FIT file directly that i can read out the signal strength , rx fails from the file, i cant download from this GC link (and for deeper analysis)

  • here the Activity File, if you need anything else please let me know, regards
