Garmin Edge 1040 Randomly Starts an Activity

This started with the first unit some time ago, yesterday I've had it replaced with a new unit. The problem became worst.

The GARMIN 1040 EDGE keeps starting an activity none stop. Until stopped and another starts. Extremely a nuisance.....

It's because of an unfortunate default setting, to change it you have to set the so called "Timer" to "Manual", see www8.garmin.com/.../GUID-F2A490BD-1D4B-4BB8-97C5-90B55733092F.html
