the connection with my Di2 does not work correctly. The gears are displayed delayed and the handlebar controls do not work until pressed many times.

So sad to see a post like this, as there are hundreds and thousands number of members are suffering from this technical issue, even Garmin keeps pushing the updates out regularly. :-(

Maybe share more details on your configuration that does not work for you? I have Shimano Ultegra Di2 R8150 and could not be happier with handlebar controls, including the latest Edge 1040 firmware. Yes, there is a bit of lag, but does not feel worse than using the touch screen itself.
