Power Meter not Connecting

I've recently got a set of Favero Assioma Pro MX-2 power meter pedals. I've successfully paired them with my Edge 1040 via ANT+, but they refuse to auto-connect when I start a new activity; I have to go into Settings>Sensors and connect them manually. However, they auto-connect just fine with my Fenix (also via ANT+), and my Garmin Vector pedals on another bike auto-connect to my Edge 1040 without issue. I've checked and the Vectors aren't connecting and preventing the Assioma's from doing so, the Vectors are asleep and disconnected.

I noticed a few people having similar problems with other power meters from posts 1yr+ ago, but has anyone since resolved this or is it still an issue that other people are experiencing?

    i have the same setup and wasn't paying attention yesterday (first ride with the pedals) as i was too busy activating and calibrating and all that. i just tried it in my basement and they automatically paired right up, no issues. pedal firmware 05.04 and edge 20.19. that pedal fw was released today but before that update i was on 04.27 and they still auto paired

    It will be interesting to see if your experience stays the same. I'm now finding that the Edge connects automatically about half the time, meanwhile the Fenix continues 100%. It doesn't look like a range issue, as once connected, the Edge never drops the PM.

    Do you have any Connect IQ data fields or apps installed? I think these are causing sensor issues. I deleted the MapDashboard data field and now my sensors connect all the time.

    I got MX2 couple of weeks back, no problems with 1040 (v20.19), autoconnect is working just fine both with original pedal firmware and update 05.04. I am not using much fancy Connect IQ data fields (I think)

    Well, thats it, maybe someone thinks this is much.

    Hovewer I would like to ask you how accurate is everyone's rider position data (standing/sitting) after the ride?

    rider position data with the mx2 is completely made up. no idea what favero is doing here but it's definitely NOT counting standing vs sitting. more discussion here:

    Hi, thanks for reply! I asked because I had quite erratic data, 60-70% of time data was showing I was standing which isnt true at all. I contacted Favero support and they asked to perform 10 minute test ride where I should stand 10-15 seconds every minute, then sent the fit file to them and after a week or so they pushed the firmware update to my pedals and after that the position data is spot on, performed several test rides and got perfect position report. This isnt a metric which I find useful, more like fun but I expected that pedals which cost quite a lot should report even funny metrics correctly and now they do this. So, even if one thinks the metrics are made up, now they are made up correctly.
