Is there a way to display the self-created course points of a route (summit, restaurants, etc.) larger on the map?
Or is there a way to make them more conspicuous in color?

I'm afraid that nothing seems to work via the menu.
But I was thinking more of a workarrount.
It's just a graphic, there must be a stylesheet somewhere for displaying it.
Perhaps similar to the map theme on Fenix 6:

There is also a MAPTHEMES folder for the Edge with various stylesheets in it.
Unfortunately, I can't find any information for the course points.
These might have to be defined separately. But then I'm at my wit's end.
Re MapThemes on Edge devices,
but there is no MapTheme element for Course Point symbols so can’t be changed. There are many many other posts requesting larger position symbols but Garmin in its wisdom has ignored these too.
Other than the symbol/ text on the map I assume you know about the Crs Pt Dist compound data field that tells you both the distance to the next course point and the point type. There is also the Next Waypoint field (have to check the name) that shows the 10/15 character short name of the next point (works best if you are not using turn guidance) but if using you just get both turn names and custom points. There is also a course Point list with name, type & current distance to the point, if you have course points the list appears as the last data screen when you scroll through the screens.
ps I probably have screen shots of these somewhere I can post if you haven’t already seen them.

No, where can i find this?
Does this also work with Turn Guidance switched on?

Yes, I know it. The field is pretty pointless, as it only works with the course points if I switch off the turn guidance. Otherwise you will be bothered by even the smallest corners and route points of no particular significance.
Why hasn't GARMIN improved this yet? A simple new data field "Next Course Point" (only Course Points) would be great.

Yes, I know that too. But sometimes I only drive with the map. I can still add two important data fields under the map. That's quite enough for me.
I would just find it more practical if I could recognise the upcoming course points more clearly (more conspicuously) on the map.
Scrolling to the list can be more distracting.
Well, I know that it's certainly not a problem for leisurely tours, but I don't want to fiddle around with the device too much on a fast road bike ride.
What we need is a CIQ developer to create data fields with the Course Point data, point name, type etc. I did a quick search and CIQ might not support Course Point data and I could not find any CIQ fields / apps that had them someone like mcinner1 https://apps.garmin.com/developer/3f7ddcde-a695-485a-9dd4-7d9bb0475bff/apps might know?

works with Turn Guidance enabled
Look at Navigation > Course Pt Distance in "select a data field" on a Data Screen
