Edge 1040 Climbpro leading on free climbs

Hi,

Reposted as original was in the wrong group.

Recently completed a long moutainous route (236km) using my new Edge 1040.  Noticed that Climbpro would start early and be running 100 to 200 meters ahead of where I was on the climb.  The current gradient shown appeared correct but it didn't correlate with where I was on the climb, e.g. 10% grade on a flat section of the profile.  I would get the climb complete notification well before I was finished.  I hadn't loaded a route before so the issue cannot be related to Strava.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Toby

  • Yes, it's also misaligned for me, it feels offset compared to reality.

  • 100% same issue.  I have fingers crossed for the v20.19 release, waiting for the update to come through.  I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the Europe country maps as that was advice elsewhere.
The location on the map appears accurate as well as the % grade reported, just the offset on the climb. For example, I see 10% gradient when I am on a green/flat bit and 1% gradient when I am on a red/steep section.  And it always says finished before the summit.

  • Yes, having the same problem. I also deleted and re-installed the maps as per advice and this didn’t make any difference.

  • If I have the gradient profile displayed on the map screen, my position on the gradient is off as well.
