1040 Edge Poor Quality

I've had an Edge 1040 now for just less than a year. It is terrible. It began dropping out immediately. I contacted Garmin and, though I was treated kindly, I really received nothing. The technician had me disconnect and then reconnect all my sensors (3 bikes), assuring me that the problem would be fixed. It wasn't. On the next call, I was asked to change out the batteries. No change. And, it's gotten worse; on my most recent rides, the thing drops out so frequently that it will go for minutes, constantly beeping. To boot, of course, the numbers are not accurate. After many years using Garmin's, This will likely be my last Garmin product.
