It's so strange that utf-8 maps from bbbike.org not working on Garmin Edge 1040,but other utf-8 map works perfectly on Garmin Edge 1040.
When I extrat Garmin Cycle Map utf-8 from https://extract.bbbike.org/, but it doesn't work on Garmin Edge 1040 at all.
When I extract Garmin Cycle Map latin1 from https://extract.bbbike.org/, it works perfectly on Garmin Edge 1040. But Chinese names always show in letters, not Chinese charaters.
When I extract OSM PBF file from https://extract.bbbike.org/, I use mkgmap and splitter to convert it to img format. I copy this map into Garmin Edge 1040, it works! ALL Chinese names show in Chinese charaters.
Does anyone know why?
