Brand new 1040 Solar, the unit rebooted during a ride.

Hi !

As the title say, today during a ride my 1040 Solar rebooted on his own during a free ride. About 2h30 in, it was raining...

Didn't lose any data or tracking during reboot but I unfortunately didn't catch what the unit said under the boot screen... I did had to push the start button after the unit went back on though.

This is pretty disappointing and unacceptable at this price point. So far it was really happy with it but this event led me to believe I can't trust my 600€+ GPS, especially for long ride (2 days or more)

Does it happen often ? Is it a fw bug ? I run the latest 19.22 with updated maps to enjoy Climb pro feature.

Yesterday I had the same. Software 20.14. After training EDGE didn’t send activity to garmin connect. I needed to upload manually:(

Ten problem powinien zostać rozwiązany na forum wersji beta. Używasz eksperymentalnego oprogramowania, więc nie powinieneś go tutaj winić.

Do you know the difference between production version software and beta version software? Well, now you know.

New device, that is, out of the box there was probably an update to the latest version. Did you do a reset of the device to factory settings after the update ? If not, backup your settings and do it.
P.S. this is not the recommended thing to do after every update, but since you have this problem, try it if it helps.
