In 1040 did they take the rapid access to the always active brightness menu?

In the Garmin 1030 there was quick access to the Brightness menu always active while pressing automatic. in the New 1040 Solar is no longer there rapid access?

    If you swipe from the top down you will get a brightness slider and auto brightness toggle.

    thanks but that's not what I'm looking for. I need the display always on for night outings. the 1030 had quick access to brightness settings

    Yes I noticed that also. As the original post says, you used to long press on the Auto Brightness button in the home widget and it brought up the display settings. Don’t know whether it was ever enabled on the 1040 but was / is  definitely a feature on the 1030. 
    I posted about this same issue in May last year.
