Really would not recommend this update until Garmin sort out the Boot upgrade firmware loop issue and the newly introduced Backlight issue . If you do there are work arounds in the beta bug list.

If you hit this problem then manually delete the gupdate.gcd file from the Garmin folder.
same issue here, all profiles gone away, all sensors gone away and I had to the complete setup again and again. worst udate ever. hope they sort it out before outdoor season in good old Germany.
rocommendation to everybody: copy all files from the device to your computer. Maybe we can use it to restore any needed information.
8682439 What process did you follow to remove the .GCD file? Just deleting this individual update file manually should not have caused a full reset like you have described. If you could elaborate on this we would like to know what steps you went through.
it was aweatherall who has managed it that way. I did not remove this file yet. will be the next step.
Thank you for the quick response. You have not performed any kind of force reboot or reset? I am trying to understand what may have happened to your device that would cause you to see data reset.
While there are several users reporting the update loop with 20.04, which we are working to resolve, this report of having information reset is not being reported by others.
If your unit has done a reset, which I have not seen myself, you might be able to recover your profiles, settings, totals and locations from the Garmin\Debug\Backup folder.
Just copy the contents from the Backup folder to the Garmin\NewFiles folder and the Edge will import them when it restarts.
