Battery life

Hi I have recently purchased the Edge 1040 solar and have noticed the battery life has reduced significantly it was ok when I first brought it and now dies so quickly. Any advice as to fix this would be highly appreciated

Just in case there's a language issue here - "backlight" refers to the screen display, NOT the Varia - you shouldn't find that the brightness setting of the Varia has any effect on the Edge 1040 battery…

Aaah ok thank you I have the Varia Radar light and my brightness is high so probably a combination of them both I’ll turn down brightness

Yeah some people have found that setting changed on the latest firmware too - turned autodimming off - and really hammered the battery. My battery life still seems great. I use a Varia 515 and that seems ok, can’t see a difference from that.

Just in case there's a language issue here - "backlight" refers to the screen display, NOT the Varia - you shouldn't find that the brightness setting of the Varia has any effect on the Edge 1040 battery. It will have an effect on the Varia's battery, obviously.

Also, make sure that you have updated to v.19.22 on the Edge - the previous version (19.19) had a highly detrimental effect on the battery duration.
