Jumps in temperature data during recording with Edge 1040 solar

I've seen a similar phenomenon when using the external tempe sensor. When the sensor disconnects temporarily (or permanently) for some reason, temperature recording switches to the internal sensor, hence the sudden change.

That was the question I was going to ask. Are you using a Tempe. If the sensor communication is lost then the Edge will switch to its internal temperature sensor until the connection is re-established. This can cause the type of jump you are seeing.

I am not using a Tempe sensor.

Only the following external sensors were used:

- Garmin Speed Sensor 2

- Garmin Cadence Sensor 2

- Polar H10 Heartrate Sensor

On some rides, Garmin Varia RTL516 was used additionally. 

This could be related to the problem reported by a number of users in another thread about battery drain with 19,19.    Are you noticing your 1040 is consuming more battery for similar usage periods then with. 18.25?

Do you use auto-pause? Would those temperature changes align with a stop? I would need to see the FIT files to offer any other ideas.

I have the same issue since the latest software version. Maybe already since the version before, I'm not sure.

The temperature is "jumping" 4°C higher/lower on a very short distance.

I'm sure there was no 4°C difference 

Edit: no stops during the ride, and no sun which could explain such jumps. I have the non-solar version.

I used Auto-Pause, but there is no correlation to actual pauses.

I also made an indoor recording without Auto-Pause but I was still experiencing the temperature jumps.
