Connection to basecamp/mapinstall broken in 19.x

Hi,

for me the problem is with maps (not routes or tracks). I can neither send maps to the edge nor view the maps in basecamp which are installed on the edge. Both worked before. 

While installing maps the MapInstall always shows 4GB freespace. If the maps are more than 4GB there is no way to install them.

Also I have Explore 2. Now is the same problem with this device. What happen?

Since peggatsch reported (thanx do him) that it works for him, I did the following:

• I deleted all maps on the edge which I had transferred via basecamp in previous edge versions - 2 openmtbmap files
• then I copied the *.img files files of this maps directly to the edge without using basecamp

and now for one reason or the other it works as described by peggatsch  above -it seems the problem were the "old maps"

Same problem for me after updating to 19.19
In the Garmin-devices-list the map "Garmin" appears, but not the Edge 1040.
Not possible to transfer tracks from Basecamp to 1040 and maps of the 1040 do not show up in Basecamp.

We need an GarminDevice.XML backup from anyone still running 18.25 firmware. Overwrite with it the one that is on your device each time after conneecting to PC then transfer will work. I have used one from Oregon 600 and that works for 4GB limit/sending maps/deleting maps but it does not tell Basecamp to convert GDB/GPX files to fit files.

I tried editing the 19.19 created file but couldn't get it to work.

I've removed some lines - and it works again. Maybe it's too long?

Right click - Saves as and choose the Garmin folder of the Edge 1040.

Hopefully Garmin fixes the firmware to create files again that are readable by Basecamp. My version works - but needs to be replaced before every time you use Basecamp or MapInstall.

Could you tell us what you cut out as I would like to reproduce the issue and solution?
