Edge 1040 VO2 max not updating

Hello,

since one month I have been using the Edge 1040 and I noticed my VO2 max values are still the same as the first day I started using the device (coming from the Edge 830). The value did drop with 4 and remained there.

I am always cycling with a chest HR and powermeter, both indoor and outdoor. Reading in other topics I could find something about Physio TrueUp but I cannot find this option on the Edge 1040 (only on my VivoActive watch).

Is something misconfigured or should I have more patience and wait for the VO2 max values to change ? (on the 830 they changed multiple times per month depending on the rides).

Edge 1040 is fully up-to-date.

Any help appreciated, kind regards,
Jeroen

As you see here there is no progress at all.Not even a single value is here.

As I used my FR945 for recording before having the 1040 my VO2max was always between 42 and 45.

I use the latest beta build.

  • Alan, i have 965 (as primary) and 840 also, and my VO2Max didnt change in the past months (stucked at 65, both "normal" and cycling VO2Max, with Edge 830 fluctuated much more between 65-78 during a year) but the predictions for the different running distances are moving up and down daily. is it normal? (i dont run but i assume these predictions are based on the VO2Max, so if the predictions are changing then the VO2Max must change also... my bodyweight is constant so there is no other variable than the VO2Max...)

  • Like mentioned before, it reports as an integer, but you can follow the trend when viewing the graph. Surprisingly, my running VO2 max had a slight change from 46>47, but my cycling remains at 46. This is with using a Forerunner965.

  • yeah i checked it and there is a very very tiny increasing (with a small decreasing in a certain period) during 4 weeks (probably my calculated VO2Max is 65.45 or similar, it should be 2 subdecimals or more in the background) but still within 65 for the entire last 4weeks. Probably that tiny decreasing and increasing make that (seconds up and down) changes in the running predictions

  • I think VO2max should still decrease 5-10% during the off season and I'm very intrigued to see how the new algorithm will hold up when I ramp up the intensity beginning of December.
