Petition to Garmin: please give us the ability to cleaning revert to older firmware versions

The Garmin development team has a habit of releasing firmware versions that break stable installations and then take weeks or even months to fix for affected users.

That has recently happened with the 18.23 and 18.25 releases, both which have clearly have broken stable setups for a number of users (including me).

Garmin's QA on the releases clearly leaves something to desired. BUT if Garmin would give us a way to cleanly REVERT to a prior stable version it would make life much easier for users. Right now I have a completely useless 1040 Solar on 18.25. And 18.23 was about as bad. But if I could revert to BEFORE 18.23 I would have a useable device again.

PLEASE Garmin give us the ability to revert to prior firmware because it would significantly reduce frustration for your customers when you have flawed updates. I hope everyone who agrees with me will add to this thread.

Although I totally agree with you on that option, I also believe that in cases like yours a full reset is obligatory, because other people don’t have those issues.

There must be a possibility of rollback! I'm still on 9.09(edge 840) and won't update until there's no other option, update is too risky.

Alas, I've tried a full reset and no change for the better. And for what it's worth, it's not just me having trouble with these to firmware releases, others are having a variety of issues with 18.23 and 18.25. If you're not, I'm happy for you!

One of the advantages of updating firmware using Garmin Express on a PC is that it stores copies of the last four update files. Perhaps it stores more but I show the last four. C:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\Downloads\PrimaryFirmware.

That is interesting. 
And you can simply 
install one of these
 "old" firmware-downloads
 over the current 
firmware, already done?

This edge 1040 is riddled with lots of small bugs, for me the fw 18.XX version is not good and Garmin has chosen to add more unnecessary functions.
Wake up Garmin!!!!!!
