bug on the upcoming climbs page

persistent bug with 1040s with fw 18.23

I went bikepacking on a long 2-day outing, this GPS is the ideal companion with its great autonomy, the battery estimate has been corrected on the fw 18.23

But here's the bug on the climbs page.

Look where I am on my route, I'm almost finishing the 8th climb.
Look at the checkmarks of the completed climbs, it stopped at the second climb.

What is the point of having a function that does not provide the service for which it was created?

Garmin before adding layers of new functions, already fix those that are interesting but don't work in the field.

Other bugs encountered on this route,
- In the evening I put the GPS in standby mode and when coming out of standby mode in the morning, the sensors no longer connect to the 104, this is the first time I have encountered this bug already described on this forum.
- The GPS freezes, it is impossible to scroll through the pages when an upcoming climb is announced, it lasts several seconds and is very annoying.
- In the rain the touchscreen works randomly, sometimes it works well, and sometimes not at all, I don't understand the reason.

Good thing, I never lost the route arrows along this route, but let's be honest, an old edge 830 does it just as well...

  • This Screen must be optional. What mind the past ascents?

  • Past climbs were quite decent, knowing the profile of the climb allows good effort management on long bikepacking outings.
It's a shame to encounter a new bug with the green check mark which did not evolve at the rate of the climbs carried out.

Are other people experiencing this problem?

  • If you use Garmin radar the green check marks cant be displayed or you cant see them.

  • there is definitely some issue here with the current (latest) FW and climbpro. was working perfectly before, now during my ride yesterday it detected the usual climbs, told me they were upcoming, then that they started, and then...they just disappeared...climbpro screen went away at some point (not sure when) during the climb and at the end of the ride it said it recorded one climb from the usual 6 during my routine course. this only started with 18.23

  • Yeah, is this screen unavoidable? I tried to get rid of it and could not. Is this actually a second ClimbPro screen or something?

  • Yes it happened with the fw 18.23, yesterday I went for 180km and this page of upcoming climbs did anything, it is therefore useless in the current state of things and what's more we can't deactivate it .
I should point out that I did not use the radar, and why would the radar prevent this page from working?

it's starting to be annoying to see new bugs arriving over the updates, especially since the updates are becoming more and more rare, every 3 months a priori... So you have to wait another 3 month to see a bug fixed that was introduced with the previous update?
Don't you find it curious that this GPS has not worked correctly for more than a year after its release?
Garmin adds unnecessary functions for certain cyclists or non-priority cyclists, such as the track group, Garmin should first concentrate on making work what is really useful for cyclists.
The edge 1040, Garmin's flagship in terms of price, is currently being botched by engineers and after a year of use we are entitled to have a perfectly functional GPS
