17.29 bugs and errors

I'll list the errors/bugs below, in case any other user is experiencing them as well, however, I'd like to know if they are already being addressed for the upcoming stable firmware release. , , any updates on that? I'd really appreciate your help with this.

a) Course climbs are out of sync: Climbs on climb pro either start early or late, so the current climb is never correct. The map and position is accurate, though, it's just Climb Pro that's off. This effectively makes climbing information useless.

b) Course elevation profile is off: Elevation gradient looks fine (considering the usual lag), however, the elevation profile on the map screen is off, sometimes with a lag as on the previous point, but sometimes completely off (e.g.: it'd never show a climb while on a hilly course)

c) Erroneous turn around alerts: Almost everytime I'm riding a course I'll get a wrong turn around alert. The map and position are accurate (clearly on course). No trigger action, they'd pop out of the blue. Merited turn around alerts work, it's just that the false alarms keep getting triggered.

d) Climb Pro screens: When I'm on a climb and Climb Pro kicks in, the screen order gets messed up on any activity profile, as the climbing screens are moved around (the order varies, sometimes it respects the set order, other times the screens go before or after their spot).

e) Greyed out areas in maps: This happened twice after I first updated the firmware and maps (North America). The map would have greyed out areas where the position vector would move through, but there would be map section displayed (a vector moving through a grey space).

f) Sound alerts bug: In the last 2 months, there have been 2-3 times where the sound alerts have gone off out of the blue, beeping constantly, on what seemed like an infinite loop. The only solution was to turn off and restart the device. I couldn't identify a trigger action.

I contacted the support team regarding these errors and the proposed solutions were to reinstall both the firmware and the map. The map reinstall solved problem e), however, all the other errors have not been solved.

It's frustrating to not being able to have a stable firmware. All my friends with Hammerheads, and online reviews, point to their firmware as being the most bug-free. Garmin, perhaps you should poach a couple of senior developers from Hammerhead, because I truly believe that the Edge 1040 could be the absolute best head unit with its hardware specs, it's just that the software makes it punch way below its weight.
