Varia RCT715 lights will not connect

After upgrading from the Edge 1030 to the Edge 1040 Solar there is a huge problem that Garmin is aware of but haven't fixed it has been an issues since the 1040 came out. They had the same problem when the 1030 came out. My RCT715 radar will connect and work just fine however, my 1040 always tells me that the taillight is disconnected from the network. I have called multiple times, get rerouted to different departments and finally get someone and they hang up on me and don't call back when they have my profile with contact information in front of them. Is there going to be a fix to this any time soon. A customer pays $750 from the 1040 and $400 for the light only to not be able to do what the device is supposed to do.
