Garmin 1040 and Trailforks

Hi all.. 

New 1040 owner here and I'm wondering how to use Trailforks on my Edge 1040

Do i have to install anything on my edge to get it to work? (using Mountain profile)

I can't get a trail to show on my device that I have saved and "sent to Garmin" from Trailfork.

    On your Edge's main page, tap Navigation and there should be an "MTB Trail Navigation" selection.  Tap on that and it should ask for your Trailforks username/password.  It will then download the TF map layer.  I believe it will sync any TF routes you have added to your TF wishlist as well.

    Thanks for the video. But I don't get that login screen after I tap MTB Trail Navigation.

    I have the TF map overlay (I think) but I can't seems to login on my TF account anywhere

    Maybe I have to connect to Garmin connect and check if all maps are downloaded correctly or something..

    So what comes up when you tap on MTB Trail Nav?  Does it list nearby trail systems?  If so then it's connecting to TF to pull that data.  If not, you will need to connect them.

    Check if you have a TF app in Settings>Connect IQ.  If it's there, try tapping on it and see if it brings up a log in screen, or maybe you tap the 3 dots in the upper right in the TF app to log in.  If the app isn't there then you may have to download it from the Connect IQ store.

    Sorry, it's been a while since I set mine up so I'm having a hard time remembering the exact steps...

    I just now did this since I wanted to sync some routes I downloaded from the Trailforks web site onto my device.

    I'll assume you've downloaded the Garmin Connect app on your phone and connected your device to It.

    • Download the Trailforks app on your phone and login to it. (You may not actually need the TF app, but I had it on my phone so I just added the step here).
    • Open the Garmin Connect app on your phone and ensure your device is connected to it.
    • On Home screen Burger menu -> Connect IQ -> Trailforks

    You should see your routes.
