All (well almost all) the dislike of the poor VP would be forgiven if Garmin just swapped the two map location symbols so that the larger (current VP) was me rather than smaller less visible one and with…
It will work on the map page and elevation page without adding those data fields to a training page, but if you wish to know what the delta is between you and the VP for time and distance then you would…
Thanks for your support. That's very useful !
The 1040 does not have the dedicated VP page that some of the earlier Edge units had..
It does still support it through through the use of the Time Ahead and Distance Ahead data fields,
When the VP is running you can access the control for it from the widget loop, by swiping down from the top of the screen and moving to the Controls page.
From there select Virtual partner. You can then change the speed of the VP or re-sync it to your current position along the course.
The VP position will show on the map page and on the elevation page when active.
All (well almost all) the dislike of the poor VP would be forgiven if Garmin just swapped the two map location symbols so that the larger (current VP) was me rather than smaller less visible one and with the current MapTheme “vehicle” color customisation they could be more useful ( you can almost make the VP transparent), can’t be all that hard, give the job to the next new junior programmer if the others can’t manage to do it
