17.29 Update Rally XC200 Issue

Updated my 1040 to 17.29 yesterday and went for a ride today. Unfortunately my Rally XC200 power pedals no longer maintain a good connection and drop out every time I stop peddling. It then takes an age to reconnect and, when they do, the power reading spikes before settling down. Very frustrating to say the least. Everything was working perfectly before the update so wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same or similar issue? I've still got my old 830 which I haven't updated so I'll ride with that next time to see if the peddles behave themselves.

  • I am on 17.29 since May 26th. I have no problems connecting to my Rally XC200 and dropouts are rare. The pedals will turn off if I stop riding for a longer while, but will come back on within seconds if I forget to spin them before resuming the ride.

The most annoying thing for me are calibration errors which happen to me ~weekly. I also had to replace batteries at some point with little warning. And when it was the right pedal that died there was some strange behaviour like bad balance, strange power and (again) calibration errors. I would recommend replacing the batteries to see if the problem persists.

  • Another issue with xc200 pedals on 17.29: If recording is already started but pedals not yet recognized, they are offline for the whole tour.

need to stop recording, wait for view seconds, restart recording. I never experienced this bug before, I just get on the bike without any interest in sequencing sensors.

  • You should just be able to enter the sensor list and select the XC200 pedals and then connect. You should not need to stop the recording if they pedals were not found at the start of the ride.

Typically I wake all my sensors up before starting the timer.

  • Thanks a lot for this advice. Makes it much more easier to ride now!
