Edge 1040 turn screen not popping up

This one is driving me crazy.

When a course is loaded and I'm following it, I have the map screen displayed. I have turn by turn switched on. For some reason (I'm presuming after an update) the turn by turn beeps but, does not pop up. This is only on the map screen. It definitely was working up until about a month ago btw, and also the way I used my Edge 1000 for 8 years.

The turn by turn does pop up if I'm on a data screen, and also the climbpro screen when chugging up a climb.

It just will not pop up if I'm on the map.

I have the map zoomed out which is why I need the turn by turn screen to pop up at junctions.

    I can't remember what my 1000 did on the map screen but this is how it has worked on the edge devices since at least the 1030.

    I don't actually mind since the turn prompt map is sometimes so flipping laggy that the turn prompt often pops up after the turn or pops up and the turn map is blank. So when I'm in towns where there could be a lot of turns in quick succession I'll switch to the map screen to give me more of on overview of what's coming up

    The navigation prompt may be set to text only. It can be changed to map under the navigation tab in your activity profile.

    Double checked and the navigation prompt is set to map in the profile I'm using. The prompt does pop up when on any data screen other than the map. It was popping up when on the map screen but stopped after one of the recent updates.
