Remove step distance on workout page

Is there a way to change "Step Distance" in the workout page on a 1040? I'd prefer to have a different data field there, but for some reason it doesn't let me edit the field.

also the “time left” on top of the screen gets behind of the “next step notification” when 5 seconds left.

I just created my own workout activity page, you can get the same graphics field from the workout section of data fields, and customize the rest of the layout.

That's in fact a secondary target field with a poor default for when you have no secondary target :-)
