Transfer totals from edge 830 to 1040

Hello I want to transfer the totals from my old edge 830 to the new 1040.
I tried to modify the fit file, converting it to csv using the fittocsvtool but then I can't convert it back to .fit.
Can someone tell me the procedure or do it directly.

Find enclosed the edited totals.fit for your new device.

Rename it to totals.fit and copy the file into Garmin/NewFiles!

Perfect thank you very much. You are super. Can you tell me how you did it? In the meantime I did another ride with BDC (61 km, 2h 7 min and 2000 Kal and I would like to add them.

I found how to convert it back to .fit
I insert the new file in the garmin newfile folder, but it doesn't seem to take it into consideration. I've also tried replacing the file in the totals folder, but nothing changes.

I'm not sure what totals you're referring to, but won't these get synced through Garmin Connect anyway?

yes, but i want to see them also on edge 1040
