Pause symbol during record activity - completely pointless

Tap the screen, if you need to do something with it. It will return to its normal state, and it is still functional.

I know - but I don't want to touch the screen to make the pause symbol disappear. I want it not to be there at all.

It is a long lasting request which I have done several times already.

Apparantly Garmin thinks that we users a some kind of stupid, not knowing that we don't move.
As for me Garmin doesn't need to 'tell me so' at all.

For me, when not moving I would like to use the map in such case to check the route.
Indeed, as other say, you can touch the screen and the symbol dissapears, however within a flash, the symbol returns and blocks the screen again.

Sometime I feel that Garmin doesn't do tests in the outside while this pause symbol is a ridiculous pain in the ass.
Having requested multiple times and not seen any updates that removed this symbol, for now I feel Garmin is kinda deaf on this subject.

All in all, we should be thankful that while driving we don't have a big green triangle displayed in the middle, that we are moving again - because we probably don't notice that either ;-)

Examples where garmin doesn't give a damn about what its customers expect are numerous - you don't have to look far - such as the totally superfluous and unprogrammable "LAP" button on the Edge remote control.

Consider disabling the completely pointless auto-pause.
