Disable the second (virtual partner) arrow when following a course on Edge 1040 Solar

Is there a way to disable the second (virtual partner) arrow when following a course on Edge 1040 Solar?

It's very irritating when you need to verify your way shortly before a turn and you see two arrows moving around. Moreover the virtual partner arrow is bigger than the one you're actually interested in.

First a PSA: The Virtual Partner (VP) can be quite useful and used to be more so before Garmin broke it a few years ago.

Second, as nghpmc mentioned, there is a simple hack for those that don't want to use the VP. Find the Virtual Partner widget on the Controls menu and set the VP to a very low percentage or speed and you'll soon leave the VP behind. (Until you rejoin a course and the VP will magically catch up.)

Thank you guys for your answers. The workaround kind of works, but it's super tedious to find and activate. Alone to slow the VP down to 10 one needs to tap 90 times on the screen. Anyone whom I showed the workaround, just laughed at it. Garmin forum is also full of complains about this "feature" since years and over device generations already.
