Issues turning on Garmin Edge 1040 Solar after updating to 17.29

I recently updated my Garmin Edge 1040 Solar to 17.29. To turn it on, I have to effectively do a soft reset (long press the power button) to turn it on now; in the past, I would hold the button down for a few seconds and it would boot up. I can no longer do that: need to do that soft reset to turn it on.

Is anyone else experiencing that issue?

I have the same problem. Have had this issue for a week. In the begining it started when I have connect it to power, but yesterday that did not work. Have tried 10 sek, 30 sek, 45 sek.... pressing diffrent buttons. I dont now what I did last yesterday when it started agian. Hopefully they find a solution with a new firmware... I have i race this weekend and need it...

I accidentally did a hard factory reset last week, but it turned it on in the end. Some info has sync'd from Garmin Connect, but I lost all my distance records etc.
