Varia vision replacement

Same here. Very dissapointed by the decision by Garmin to drop this excellent product.

I would too love a new varia vision. have been using for so many years and finally it gave up today.  

Since they fixed EPIX2, I am using the varia vision without any issues. Thanks Garmin for fixing it!!! And yes, looking for a newer version besides my 2017 Varia Vision still working.

So you're saying it works without any problem with EPIX2?

What firmware level is your EPIX2 running?

Can you define custom pages in the Varia Vision sensor options?

Have you tried with any of the modern era Edge bike computers, 540/840/1040?

Pages came from the EPIX2. The typical 4 fields and radar as usual. No changes there.
I stopped using the 1040 after EPIX2 was fixed on version 14.31.
On the 1040 worked well but restarted the varia vision on every interval. Not sure if that was fixed. 

That's good news regarding EPIX2, thank you. So it should work with the Fenix7 and MARQ2 range also.

Any chance you could have another go using the 1040 with latest FW to see if the thing still reboots on every interval?

1040 would be my main use for the Varia Vision, I use it on every ride but I'stuck stuck with a 1030 plus... (where I've had zero issues with the Varia Vision)

The reboot of the Edge when paired to a watch in extended display mode when hitting the lap button on the watch during a workout is reported to have been fixed in the 1040 beta release 20.x

Ok, that is good news then. I will try it on 20.x. Will post next week once I feel better from this cold :-)
